Before you order, walk the route from the street to your proposed spot. The dumpster’s dimensions are only part of the space needed: the truck needs an approach, room to unload and access again on pickup day. Describe the location when requesting your Millcreek quote so we can discuss the plan before arrival.
Share the usable length and width, along with gates, overhead branches or wires, slopes and parked vehicles. Tell us if the container would block the garage or a shared driveway. Our published dimensions describe the dumpster itself; they are not a minimum truck-clearance specification. Ask our team to confirm the access requirements for your chosen size.
See container dimensionsFor a basement or interior remodel, consider the route from the work area to the container. Keep a usable walking path and discuss loading-door access before placement. A larger dumpster may reduce the number of loads, but it must still suit the material, approach and available space. Do not choose on capacity alone.
Plan a remodeling rentalIf you are concerned about the placement surface, tell us when booking and request driveway protection. Describe the surface and any existing damage or soft areas. We can discuss the placement plan with you; protection is not a promise that every surface can support a loaded dumpster or delivery truck without damage.

If the driveway will not work, do not assume the street is automatically available. Millcreek’s published fee schedule specifically addresses dumpsters and moving pods, including placement beyond seven days. Ask the City about your exact location, required approval and current charges before arranging public-space placement. Extending your Icon rental does not extend a municipal approval.

Not necessarily. The 20-yard container is 14 feet long, while the 15-yard container is 16 feet long, but width, height, truck access and loading-door space also matter. Both are 8 feet wide. Share the placement details and ask us to confirm the fit rather than choosing from the size name alone.
No. Icon’s shallow 10-yard container is for approved concrete or heavy-material loads, not ordinary household or garage junk. Compare the 15-, 20- and 30-yard options for a cleanout and tell us about the largest items.
Call before the planned pickup or before the dumpster fills. We will discuss route availability, any extra-time charges and whether another container is needed. Keep the truck approach clear; if public-space permission applies, confirm that separately with the City.
